Why not try before you buy, was my advice to the guy who called earlier in the season. Personally I think it's a no brainer, when spending hard earned cash on what is an expensive piece of equipment, not to at least have a feel of it in some water prior to purchase.
Having supreme confidence in the range of rods of both Hardy Marksman 2 T Series and Zenith Rods we have recently designed for Hardy, and XF2 rods for Greys, knowing full well the range has something for all. I spent a couple of hours this morning fitting one of those to the technique of a customer who was surprised at the difference in actions of all those rods and also the difference the particular line made. The end of the session left the client in no doubt of which rod you get. Although he really liked the Marksman 14' 9" with the same line, the Zenith rod, constructed with our groundbreaking SINTRIX material, suited his individual technique that bit better.

There is no doubt that casting the rod on water gives you a much better idea of what it is you are buying. This is just another in the long line of customers who save money by buying the correct tackle. The new range of rods has something for everyone, from traditional (long and slow), to super fast (Scandi) style, we have something to fit every casting technique, any fishing scenario, and importantly, for every budget.
